Cheek implant surgery options
At Wentworth Clinic our plastic surgeon offers two cheek augmentation treatment options:
- Solid implants – Often used alone or with other cosmetic procedures.
- Soft tissue implants – Using either the patient’s own fat or synthetic materials like hyaluronic acid.

At Wentworth Clinic, we do not support soft silicone implants for two reasons. One, they cannot be stabilised and secondly, they can cause resorption of the overlying bone and further deformity over time.
Type of anaesthesia for cheek implant surgery
Although it is possible to place a cheek implant under local anaesthetic, it should ideally be carried out under a general anaesthetic. The majority of cheek implants are carried out with other types of cosmetic surgery procedures such as brow lift surgery.
